Today, as you start your week, what are putting your hope in? There have been so many hateful and destructive things shared on social media after the election of Donald Trump as President. You can see the people who are ecstatic or frustrated and/or hopeless because of the political change.
The concern with either of those groups is that the passion in words/posts is directly connected to the hope people have in the officials over them and in the system of government. I have a pastor friend who lives in Washington State and he posted on his social media accounts a very profound statement. He said, "Our political leaders are not there for us, we are there for THEM." Meaning, our hope and direction for the life we lead comes from the Bible and relationship with Jesus and not simply on who is or is not in office. Of course we need to vote and elect people we think would best represent Biblical values, but the CORE of our hope stands with Christ and him working and moving through us to touch the lives of others.
This week, think about your passions and don't let those who disagree with you make you sad or angry. Emotional reactions to things of this earth can be the BEST barometer for where your hope truly lies. Let it be with Christ!!
Have a great week and always, we are praying for you!
