The Roles We Play
Does this sound familiar?
Please help me to be a good, kind person, a good son, husband, sister, mother, gardener, employee, leader, follower, provider, listener, friend, and Christian. Do you fit into any of those categories? On almost any day, at any time during our lives we will have several roles to play and they often interweave in our work lives, in our family life and in our Christian lives.
Have we considered what role Jesus played in the world and what role God expects of us?
What role did Jesus play in the world? Our Savior- The Son of God! Where would we possibly be without Jesus Christ and his Love for us? As a Man? The Son of God? A Sacrifice? These weren’t easy roles to fill, but He did them to the fullest with the greatest outcome. Are we the best that we can be in the many roles we play? Where would your family be without you? Or your work or friends? What does God want us to do to fulfill our role here on the Earth?
In Mark 12:30 to explain what God wants from us, Jesus says “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. That is the first and great commandment and the second is : “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
There are a lot of roles we play and work we do, and it all begins with Love.
