The definition of Envy is: painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another, joined with a desire to possess the same advantage.
Proverbs 14:30 says, "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones". Ewwww! James 3:16 "For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice". No Thank you! Don’t measure your life and success in comparison of someone else. Be your own person and live your life to your means. Constant envy and jealousy will only push people away because they will not want to be part of your consistent competition. The other thing that envy does is negates what God has for YOU. Spend time with him and hear his heart for what He has for YOU! As you can see in the scriptures listed above, there is nothing good that comes out of envy. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29, When you seek me with all of your heart, I will be found by you declares the Lord. Don’t get caught in the enemy’s game of distracting you with envy so that you miss what God has for YOU. Let us all adhere to the scripture and wipe these things from our life listed in 1 Peter 2:1 "Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind". Here are some ways to deal with Envy: 1) Take a step back. When feeling envious, stop and realize it. 2) Grow. Make a plan to develop your own positive qualities and unique gifts. 3) Don’t give up. Jealousy and envy can be a constant struggle for some individuals and can be indicative of an unresolved past pain. 4) Seek God for the plans He has for you. You are an individual masterpiece of God, no need to be envious of someone else because He has plans and things just for YOU. Be Blessed, Yolanda Assistant Manager
