OUR Actions Make Up The Culture Too!

We live in a world where it is becoming easier and easier to look at the culture we live in a lose hope. We look at the way negative things happen in our culture and then blame the devil or others who we consider led by satan. The problem with that thinking is OUR actions make up culture as well but the real question is what are we doing to influence culture with our actions? Prayer is a very important element in the life of believers but so are Godly actions that reinforce what the Word says. In fact, without actions that prove those prayers, what do those prayers even mean?

The most important thing to remember about holding people accountable with the truths of the Bible who are lost and don’t know what the Word SAYS is that they need us to be the example of what the Word DOES...and that is change people from the inside out. When we are reading and ingesting the Word of God on a regular basis we shouldn’t just read it for academic sake but for the Holy Spirit to illuminate the words to us and change us not just inside but our actions as well! The love of God and the Bible should also make us good listeners to the people around us, who in most ways are just like you and me. 

When the word changes people, and those people begin to act out the powerful principles of truth written in scripture, then the culture around will change to reflect Godly principles. It’s not about quoting words from the Bible to people who have no idea what you are talking about. Not that there is limited power in God’s word but that you have the option AND ability to live those principles out in a world searching for answers to all of life’s problems.

Today, pray for God to reveal truth for you when you read the Bible and practical ways to exhibit God’s love and Word to the world around you...Also known as changing culture.
