Just let go and let God! Have you heard that before?
What keeps us from honoring God, trusting God, loving God? Ephesians 4:31 states, “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger be put away from you........” Are we afraid to let go? Have we been let down so many times in the past that we are afraid to trust someone?
God is not just someone. God is everything. And he loves us and tells us He will look out for us. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Is it our ego getting in the way with us thinking that we don’t need any help and that we can get by on our own? Are we afraid to ask for help because we don’t want to owe anybody, anything? God loves us and wants to help us. Things happen. We make mistakes, our friends and families make mistakes and sometimes the results are devastating. “Be strong and do not give up for your work will be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7). If we know God, love God, have Him in our lives we can get through. It may take a while, maybe a long while but with God’s Love and encouragement, we can keep moving ahead.
Proverbs 4:25 reminds us to “Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your gaze be straight before you.” As God cares for us, He wants us to care for others. “Let all you do be done in love.” Corinthians 16:14. We can share His love with those around us. “Let brotherly love continue, show hospitality to strangers. I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:1-5
Today, I encourage you to take one step closer to Letting Go and Letting God work in the hurt, broken, painful places in your life. You will never look back and regret being healed.
