John 3:16 – For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son so that whoever believes in him will not die but have eternal life.
This was the first Bible verse I learned growing up and its words still ring true today. This verse shows a love from God so deep that it crossed the line of normal thinking and “loving only when you feel loved” but gave a perfect example of transformational love. This week, we need to keep something in mind when we deal with people who may be scratchy in some way and hard to deal with and/or love. Remember that everyone acts out of two things when they are being difficult; past hurts they have never dealt with or a current pain, whether that be emotional or physical. This absolutely does not justify adverse actions or the way you are treated, but when you can put into context what someone may be going through it helps you adjust your actions with them to not just be RE-actions of their pain. Think back to a time when you didn’t have it all together and needed that same mercy from others. Maybe you are being the “scratchy” one to the people around you and need to tighten up the relationships around you and not let something that is going on in life affect the people around you. Maybe you just need to surrender an area of your life to God today. The Bible says in Isaiah 55:6 to seek God’s face while he may be found. That is for all of us any time we feel like life is getting out of control and is an important directive for us all. When we see that we are all just broken in varying levels with only God to lean on, our perspective changes from what we need to get from someone in a relationship to considering how we can be a blessing to the world around us. Have a great week! From your Rocky Mountain CTN Team
