I love my Apple watch. It is zippy and has some great features I use with the connection to my phone. I am very connected to my technology and all the reminders that I have grown to need and trust on a daily basis. I can look at any given work week and feel the full gravity of making and keeping a tight schedule each day and knowing where every minute is spent.
Then I thought about my relationship with God and his timing in my life and what he uses when it comes to interaction with me. Many times we base or compare our relationship to God and our relationship with the rest of the world around us on the same level. We try to explain or understand a heavenly dimension with an earthly perspective. That is like trying to describe the birds-eye view from an airplane while standing on the ground. You do not have the perspective of seeing everything instead of only what you can only see in front of you. Even the term “God’s timing” can seem like it’s related to waiting more than receiving something from him. It can be frustrating and make you think of a statement like, “Does God even own a watch?” I want to challenge you with something. Starting today, stop trying to think that because you don’t see something in the physical realm that nothing is happening in the Spiritual realm. God sees everything that came before you, all the challenges of today and all the twists and turns of a normal life here on earth. Worrying about the future or being concerned about something happening in your life right now does not prompt God to intervene in your situation. Patience and trust, on the other hand, shows that your focus is on God beyond your circumstances and that you realize the things you deal with in life are just seasons. Some seasons can seem longer than others, but they are still just seasons. Have a great week and know that God is working things on your behalf even when you don’t think he cares about timing of adverse situations in your life. We are praying for you and believe that God is giving you revelation about not thinking of God ON a timeline when he IS the timeline!
