Too many times in life, we try and complicate our walk with God.
For example, we try and fit scripture that we read to OUR beliefs instead of reading it in the context that it was given to help guide and direct our lives. We hear or see things in our culture that are directly against the Bible’s teachings and suddenly feel the need to defend Jesus by saying or doing something in our flesh and not asking God first if something even needs to be said or done. Or we can feel a tugging of the Holy Spirit in our lives in an area that needs to change but try and justify or keep ourselves on OUR track and not on God’s BEST track for us. No one is above doing things that serve or cater to our flesh first and God second. Today, dedicate yourself to doing three things. 1. Don’t be so busy that you forget to spend some time with Jesus. Whether that is praying, reading your Bible or just sitting quietly and listening to what He has to say to you. They are all important aspects of time spent with God. 2. Think of one area of your life that needs to change and take ONE STEP closer to giving it over to God. Maybe you have anger issues and on your drive home tonight, you are going to purpose yourself to not get angry with the traffic that decides to not travel at YOUR set speed. 3. Have patience with other followers of Christ who get it wrong at times...just like we all do. One of the most powerful ways to simplify your walk with God is to forgive and have patience with others. If you can do these three things this week, I guarantee the simplicity of the Gospel will flood your life and will start a pattern of freedom that you will not be able to contain! We love you all and are praying for God’s VERY BEST! Enjoy Life. Consider Eternity!
