God is your DEFENDER!!
The pic above was my eye when I was sick, had thoughts of depression and thought I had lost myself even being a pastor and many years in the church. I love the song from Rita Springer called Defender. Check out these lyrics: You go before I know That You've gone to win my war You come back with the head of my enemy You come back and You call it my victory You go before I know That You've gone to win my war Your love becomes my greatest defense It leads me from the dry wilderness All I did was praise All I did was worship All I did was bow down All I did was stay still Hallelujah, You have saved me So much better Your way Hallelujah, great Defender So much better Your way You know before I do Where my heart can seek to find Your truth Your mercy is the shade I'm living in You restore my faith and hope again When I thought I lost me You knew where I left me You reintroduced me to Your love You picked up all my pieces Put me back together You are the defender of my heart All I did was praise All I need to do is worship Lord I will just bow down I'm just gonna stay still I love how people submit to the Holy Spirit and he gives people songs from the heart to encourage people in their situations. My favorite line in this song is toward the end that says; When I thought I lost me You knew where I left me You reintroduced me to Your love You picked up all my pieces Put me back together You are the defender of my heart I can remember being sick and so mad at God and what was happening and this song is such a great reminder that even though at times I thought I had lost myself but Jesus knew right where to find me. If you feel lost today, Jesus knows exactly where you are, what you need and how to get your life back on track. The love of God is greater than anything we could imagine and more powerful than the stupid things that can happen in life. Be blessed and have a wonderful week! Let him show the wisdom from above, by walking fitting to his character. If he calls himself a steward of the many gifts of God, let him see that all his thoughts, words, and works fulfill the duty God has assigned him. It is no small thing to lay out for God all which you have received from God. it requires all your wisdom, all your determination, all your patience and faithfulness; far more than ever you had by nature but not more than you may have by grace. His grace is sufficient for you. "All things," you know, " are possible to him that believes" (Mark 9:23). By faith, then "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 13:14), "put on the whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11), and you will be able to glorify Him in all your words and works. Yes, to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ!
Adapted from "The Good Steward" in The Collected Sermons of John Wesley. It takes serious training to be transformed into the leader God created you to be and to become equipped for success in every area of your life.
The speakers for this year’s event are champions in their own right. Andrew Wommack will be joined again by sportscaster James Brown, former host of Fox NFL Sunday and current host of The NFL Today on CBS, and retired NFL head coach Tony Dungy, a New York Times bestselling author and current analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America. *This is a FREE event, but you need to register* March 14th - 16th, 2019 Charis Bible College 800 Gospel Truth Way Woodland Park, CO 80863 For More Information or to Purchase Meal Tickets and reserve your space: charismensadvance.com |
